The main structure of liquorice consists of wheat flour, which is supplemented with other ingredients such as sugar and molasses to obtain a traditional taste. A pinch of Anise oil is then added to intensify the Licorice flavor overall. Licorice has a beneficial effect on the stomach lining, heals stomach and duodenal ulcers. It is suitable for colds, as it helps to clear up coughs. Traditional Scandinavian black licorice is boiled for up to approximately two hours, then shaped, cooled and packaged. The development of this range involves a lot of manual work.
